In the final two matches of the European Cup round of 16, Gakpo scored a pass and scored a goal, while Maren scored two goals as a substitute. The Netherlands won 3-0 against Romania;

By virtue of the two goals scored by the central defender De Mirar, Türkiye beat Austria 2-1 and also got on the last bus of the top 8.

Romania 0-3 Netherlands

The Orange Army completely suppressed the Balkan Eagles, and in the first 20 minutes of the first half, Gakponecce scored his third goal in this year’s European Championship, tying for the top scorer list. In the second half, Gakubo scored another goal and was blown offside. In the 83rd minute, Gakubo assisted Maren in scoring.
In stoppage time, Maren made a long run and scored twice, becoming the first player to score two goals in a single game in this year’s European Championship. In the end, the Netherlands eliminated Romania 3-0, and Türkiye will play in the quarter final.

Austria 1-2 Türkiye

Demilar scored a chaotic goal in 57 seconds, scoring the second fastest goal in European Cup history and also the fastest goal in the knockout stage. In the 59th minute, Guler assisted, Demilar scored twice, and in the 66th minute, Gregoric pulled back a goal. In the second reading phase, Türkiye goalkeeper Gunock attacked Baumgartner and was bound to score a header!
In the end, Türkiye eliminated Austria 2-1. Austria took a 21-6 lead in shooting and 10-4 lead in corner kicks, with a ball control rate of 60% -40%. But it was the Turks who won the game. They entered the last eight of the European Cup after 16 years. The quarter final will be against the Netherlands.

The Netherlands and Türkiye have played 14 times before. The Netherlands won 6, tied 4 and lost 4. The last time they played was in the 2021 World Preliminaries. The Netherlands won 6-1, creating the biggest difference between the two teams.
However, don’t be too happy in the Netherlands too soon. In March this year, Türkiye was also bloodwashed 1-6 by Austria. Four months later, Turkish cavalry took revenge on Austria in the European Cup knockout.

Death Zone! 1/4 match revealed! The top half champion leads 9-1

At this point, the round of 16 of this year’s European Championship has come to an end, and all eight teams have been selected. The quarterfinals match is announced (team value in parentheses)——
Upper half area:
On July 6th at 0:00: Spain (966 million euros) vs Germany (831 million euros)
On July 6th at 3pm: Portugal (1.05 billion euros) vs France (1.23 billion euros)
Lower half area:
July 7th at 0:00: England (1.52 billion euros) vs Switzerland (281 million euros)
At 3:00 on July 7: Netherlands (815 million euros) vs Türkiye (324 million euros)

It is obvious that Spain, Germany, Portugal, and France in the upper half are all traditional strong teams, forming a truly death zone. Spain vs Germany, Portugal vs France, two standard powerhouses in a 2 billion dollar battle.
And all four teams have won the European Championship, with a total of 9 championships (3 for Spain, 3 for Germany, 2 for France, and 1 for Portugal).

However, among the four teams in the lower half of the region, there is a great disparity in value. England is five times more expensive than Switzerland, and the Netherlands is nearly 500 million euros more expensive than Türkiye.
In the lower half, only the Netherlands has won the championship once (1988), and England has won the runner up once (2021). Switzerland and Türkiye are not traditional strong teams and have not yet reached the finals.

Overall, the Netherlands and England are in a more ideal half zone, which is definitely a dream position for Germany, Spain, Portugal, and France.

Who is the most popular? Latest championship probability+odds announced

Sports data company Gracenote predicts that Spain has the highest probability of winning the championship with 18.8%, Germany with 17%, and the Netherlands with 16.5% (the Netherlands has a 38% chance of reaching the final, the highest among all teams).
France is 16.4%, England 11.9%, Portugal 8%, Switzerland 7%, and Türkiye 4.5%.

According to the relevant institutions, England is still the most promising with 4.50/1, followed by Spain with 5.00/1, France and Germany with 5.50/1, the Netherlands with 8.00/1, Portugal with 10.00/1, Switzerland with 15.00/1, and Türkiye with 34.00/1.
I have watched most of the European Championship matches outside of 3am, and intuitively, Switzerland is underestimated! At least in terms of combat effectiveness in the first four matches, they have an absolute chance of defeating the Three Lions in 90 minutes.

Top four personal predictions: Germany vs. France, Switzerland vs. Netherlands. What are your opinions?
